Yatour Digital Music Changer (YTM06-MAZ1)

The Yatour YTM06-MAZ1 is a digital music interface adapter designed for factory Mazda car radios with a 16-pin CD changer connection. It allows you to play digital music through your original RX-8 head unit in CD quality, without the need for FM transmitters or cassette adapters.

:::info RX-8 Compatibility Compatible with 2004–2008 RX-8 models. The radio firmware version must be v9.55 or later (except v9.81 and v10.01, which are incompatible). Not compatible with satellite radio or navigation-equipped vehicles. (Manuals+) :::

Overview

The Yatour Digital Music Changer emulates a CD changer, connecting directly to the CD changer port on the back of the factory radio. This means:

  • No loss of audio quality — direct digital connection, unlike FM transmitters
  • Full steering wheel and radio button control — operates via the existing CD changer controls
  • Track and disc numbers displayed on the factory radio screen
  • Plug & Play installation — no modification to original parts required

How It Works

The adapter appears to the factory radio as an external CD changer. You select CD changer mode on the radio, and the interface maps your digital media to virtual CDs:

Virtual CDSource
CD01–CD05Folders on USB drive or SD card
CD06–CD07AUX input (varies by setup)
CD08–CD09Bluetooth audio streaming (with YT-BTM module)

Navigation between folders and tracks is done using the radio's disc up/down and track up/down buttons, or the steering wheel controls. (ManualsLib)

File Preparation

  1. Format your USB drive or SD card to FAT32
  2. Create folders named CD01, CD02, CD03, etc.
  3. Place MP3 or WMA files inside each folder
  4. Each folder is treated as a virtual "CD" (disc)

Installation

:::warning Professional installation recommended Incorrect installation can damage your vehicle's electrical system or the adapter. If unsure, seek professional assistance. :::

Steps

  1. Disconnect the battery — remove the negative terminal to prevent electrical shorts
  2. Remove the factory radio — carefully remove trim panels and mounting brackets
  3. Locate the CD changer port — find the 16-pin CD changer port on the back of the radio
  4. Connect the Yatour cable — plug the Mazda connection cable from the interface box to the CD changer port
  5. Route cables — position the interface box in a secure, discreet location within the dashboard or glove compartment
  6. Connect Bluetooth module (optional) — plug the YT-BTM module into the interface box; route the microphone near the rearview mirror or sun visor
  7. Connect AUX cable (optional) — plug the 3.5 mm cable into the interface box
  8. Test before reassembly — reconnect the battery and test USB, SD, AUX, and Bluetooth functionality
  9. Reassemble the dashboard — once confirmed working, carefully reassemble everything

Bluetooth Module (YT-BTM)

The optional YT-BTM Bluetooth module adds:

  • Hands-free calling — incoming calls mute the music and route audio through the car speakers; use the microphone for clear communication
  • A2DP music streaming — stream music wirelessly from your phone to the car speakers
  • Auto-pairing — once paired, the phone connects automatically when the adapter is powered on
  • Pairing code — typically 0000

A remote control (YT-REMO) is also available separately for answer/hang-up and music control.
